Who is Bill Knight?

I'm Bill Knight and I've been a freelance copywriter since 1991. In the past 20 years I've helped to sell millions of pounds worth of products and services for my company (Anglox Publications Ltd), and my many clients world-wide.

I earn a six-figure annual income from copywriting and I can pick and choose my clients and my projects.

Some of my clients pay me a retainer just so they can call me up for marketing advice. Others will happily pay my fees, which is whatever I decide them to be, and they'll also pay me royalties from sales generated from my sales copy.

To be honest... copywriting is a good career choice and offers a very comfortable lifestyle.

Before I became a copywriter I was a college IT tutor and before that I was involved in running several businesses including a Landscape Design business. I have found that my entrepreneurial experience has certainly come in very handy, especially my sales experience.

So... what about your background?

Well, to be honest... it really doesn't matter what kind of work you've done in the past because just about anyone can learn to become a copywriter. However, a potentially exceptional copywriter will already posses certain qualities. And they are not what you might expect...

What you DO and DON'T need, to become a copywriter...

Despite what many people think, you do not need a degree in English Language or English Literature to be a copywriter. In fact you don't need a degree in any subject... or of any kind.

Truth is... you don't need any qualifications whatsoever to become a freelance copywriter.

However there are a few things that could certainly help you...

If you have some sales experience or if you at least understand the whole sales process then this would help you develop a career as a sales copywriter. And if you have at least an average command of the English language then you're half way there already.

If you don't have any previous sales experience then not to worry... my course is designed to take a completely inexperienced student and turn them into a creative, above average and fully fledged all-round copywriter in under 12 months.

What this course is NOT!

If you search around you can find some one day copywriting courses advertised at a cost of about £350 - £450 and they will only cover the basics... this course is not anything like one of those!

Some courses will only cover one or two aspects of copywriting, and will leave so many other important areas unexplored and unexplained... my course is not like that!

Some courses have copywriter "tutors" who have never really experienced real-life copywriting situations at a top level. They just work to a structured prospectus based on simple copywriting methods... my course is definitely not like that!

Some copywriting training is based purely on advertising agency practices. Most ad agencies are more interested in winning awards and boosting individual egos... and I'm not at all like that!
